The
mission of the Internal Affairs
- Legal Services Section is to
ensure
the integrity and quality of
the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department
by thoroughly investigating all allegations
of misconduct by any member of this
Department. Internal Affairs also
works directly with the County Counsel's
Office to provide investigations
and recommendations on all claims
filed against the County of Yolo
involving the Sheriff’s
Department and all Public Records
Act document
requests. Internal Affairs must
also maintain the document files
that
relate to Internal Affairs Investigations,
confidential personnel files,
licensing, permits, lawsuits,
property claims,
use of force, and departmental
vehicle accidents.
If you wish to file a complaint
of misconduct against an employee
of the Yolo County Sheriff's
Department, you can file a complaint
in person
at the Sheriff’s
Department or contact the Internal Affairs Captain
Rich Williams, during
normal business hours. If the
complaint
is after
hours and is of an urgent manner,
please call the Sheriff’s
dispatch and ask to speak to the on-duty patrol supervisor regarding the
complaint.
