The
Sheriff’s Working Inmate
Program (SWIP), a section of
the Detention Division, allows
low
risk convicted individuals to
work for the Yolo County Probation
Department
instead of serving their full
time in jail. Inmates may be
released
from their last forty-five days
of jail time to perform outdoor
work within specific guidelines
of this program as an alternative
to completing their sentence
in custody. SWIP is a voluntary
program.
In addition to other specific regulations, the inmate must pay a $25.00 application
fee to the jail in order to participate in the program. Prior to beginning
the work the inmate must pay $340.00 fee to the office of Revenue and Reimbursement.
Once the inmate is eligible to participate in the program, more detailed fee
information will be provided. |
